POLICE in Royston are warning women to be on their guard following two incidents in which they were confronted by youths. In the first incident, a woman was heckled by a group of youths who she had to walk past to use a footpath in Cherry Drive. In the second incident, a woman out walking her dog was pushed by teenagers, who then shouted abuse at her. Royston community officer Pc Colin Mingay said: "It's just very frightening for people, even though neither of the women were badly hurt. "It was very distressing for them and must be a terrible experience. "It's not the sort of behaviour that people in Royston find acceptable at all. "People, especially women, want to feel safe. Why should they have to worry about groups hanging around? "It's only two incidents, but it's two too many. If we track down anyone behaving in that way, we will bring charges.
