The search was carried out in Kneesworth Street, Dog Kennel Lane and the Manor House car park following a sexual assault on a woman in her late 20s in the Manor House car park three weeks ago.
A Herts police spokesperson said: "We were carrying out a routine search and looking for something which may stand out as important."

He was a white male, aged 35-40, of stocky build with short or just shaven hair.
