Under previous legislation, drivers who did not have a satisfactory address in the UK were often not paying fines because of the difficulty tracing them.
However, a new initiative being implemented by Cambridgeshire Police will see those without a UK address being issued with on the spot fines.
Insp Chris Skepper, from the roads policing unit, said: "This new system has been put in place to ensure fine dodgers who have previously escaped their fines because they do not have a satisfactory UK address now have to pay like all other motorists.

The rules will also be applied to drivers of commercial vehicles, and fines will range from 60 - 200 depending on the severity of the infringement.
