POLICE have named a cyclist who died in a road crash in Ashwell last Tuesday.
Carole Giovine, 46, of Station Road, Ashwell, was involved in a collision with a silver Seat Ibiza, driven by a man from Cambridgeshire, at the junction of Lucas Lane and Station Road.
She was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital with severe head injuries, but died on Wednesday.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Hertfordshire Coroner's Court on Friday, and a full hearing will take place in due course.
Pc Ruth Catchpole, from the Eastern Area Road Policing unit, said: "Investigations into this incident are currently ongoing, but I would like to appeal for any witnesses to the collision.
"I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and believes they may have information which would assist us with our inquiries to contact the police."
