Police have launched an appeal for witness to come forward after a dog was bitten on Therfield Heath in Royston.

The appeal comes after a man with two dogs, and a woman – who had three dogs with her – became involved in an altercation at about 3.45pm on Thursday, February 23.

One of the man’s dogs sustained bite injuries and needed veterinary treatment following the incident.

Investigating officer PCSO Chris Brabrook said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this incident and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch.”

Police did release an image of a woman to come forward but have since confirmed they had already spoken to her. Officers said she contacted the police of her own volition on the day of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO Brabrook via the non-emergency number 101.
