POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Cottered on Tuesday.
The incident took place at 3.22pm in The Crescent, Cottered. The occupier of the property disturbed two men trying to force entry via the rear door.
Upon seeing the householder, the men fled the scene in a dark coloured vehicle. They made off in the direction of Baldock.
Detective Sergeant Tim Johnson, who is investigating the incident, said: "I would like to speak to anyone who saw these men in the area around the time of the incident. I am also looking for information about the vehicle.
"Someone must know who these offenders are and I appeal to anyone with even the slightest bit of information to contact me," he said.
Both suspects are described as a white males, aged 30-40 and approximately 5'5" tall. One had blonde hair and was wearing a green jacket, while the other had a tanned face.
