Police and North Herts District Council are teaming up to host a crackdown on crime session in Royston tomorrow.

Officers from the force and members of the district council’s Community Safety team will be on hand to advise the public on how to prevent thefts and become a victim of crime over Christmas.

There will also be information on how to ensure that the mounds of waste collected over the festive period does not end up being fly-tipped and advice about how to ensure you carry out the disposal of waste responsibly by using licenced waste carriers.

Councillor Tony Hunter, the district council’s executive member for community engagement, said: “We want to encourage everyone to come along on Saturday and pick up tips on the steps that you can take to ensure that everyone is kept safe over the Christmas and New Year celebrations.”

The session will be at Tesco in Old North Road from 11am to 1pm.
