Planning permission for a development of 39 homes on the northern edge of Royston has tonight been granted at the third time of asking.
North Hertfordshire District Council’s planning control committee approved the Fairview New Homes application, which dates back to 2012, when it met at Letchworth’s Spirella Ballroom tonight.
The development will be built north of Housman Avenue and Lindsay Close and south of the A505.
The committee, chaired by Councillor David Barnard, had previously deferred the application so Fairview Homes could alter the plan to bring the proportion of affordable housing up to 40 per cent. This has now been done.
The development comprises one five-bedroom house, 14 four-bedroom homes, 16 three-bedroom homes, two two-bedroom houses, four two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats.
A motion to grant permission was passed near-unanimously, with all voting in favour except for Councillor Tony Hunter – who abstained.
