A MAJOR road was closed this evening (Wednesday) following a fatal accident.
The accident happened on the A10 at Melbourn between Royston Road and the junction with the A505 junction when a car and a pedestrian were in collision just before 5pm..
Cambridgeshire police confirmed that the pedestrian had been killed and police officers were carrying out an investigation into the tragedy.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said the man, believed to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
