PLANS to install a 40mph "buffer zone" on the A10 could be included in road safety plans.

The zone would be on the A10 near to the Royston & District Hospital.

The idea has been suggested to North Herts District Council's high-ways joint panel as a "complementary mea-sure".

Work to look into creating the zone will cost the district council £3,000 and may be included in a works programme for 2008-09.
