Pair suffer smoke inhalation after New Year’s Day house fire

Two people treated for smoke inhalation yesterday after a house fire in Royston.
Fire and ambulance crews were called to a property on Briary Lane at 2.38pm and the fire service gave first aid to two people inside.
Two fire engines were deployed from Royston and a cover jet was used to control the fire.
A fire investigation officer was called to the scene.
