THE grandmother of a woman killed in a car crash on Thursday night has paid tribute to her "beautiful princess". Laura Willis, 20, of Milton Close, Royston died when the car in which she was travelling left the A505 near Melbourn and collided with a tree. The driver, 42-year-old Brendan Noades, of Newmarket Road, Heydon, also died in the accident. Patricia Hill, Laura's grandmother, said: "We're devastated. It was such a tragic thing to happen. "She was our beautiful princess, but was taken from us. "We've been overwhelmed by the amount of people who have come forward with sympathy cards and helped us grieve." Laura's nephew, six-year-old Jordan Griffin of Royston, was pulled from the wreckage and taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries. Patricia, who is also Jordan's great-grandmother, has paid tribute to his bravery, and to those who helped him. "We just want to say a big thank you to the people first on the scene, both civilian and professional, those who sat with him when it was pitch dark," she said. "We would like to let everyone know that he's recovering, and what a brave little boy he is. "We are so lucky, it's a miracle - a guardian angel must have been with him that day." Laura, who was a pupil at Roman Way School, Roysia Middle School, and The Meridian School, was described as very close to her two sisters, Kelly, 24, and Denise, 23, and her brother Graham junior, 19. "We're all a very close family and Laura was particularly close to Kelly's son Jordan," Patricia said. "She was always with her sisters and they loved each other so much. "Every single day of her life she told the people around her that she loved them - the love shone from her face. "She always saw the good in everyone. In the last few weeks of her life, she had such a bubbly and happy smile. "We are remembering our princess as she was - so happy and beautiful." Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident. Pc Paul Symonds, who is investigating the accident, said: "I appeal to anyone who was on that stretch of the A505 late Thursday night. "Did you see the collision or the vehicle in the moments leading up to the accident?" - Anyone with information is asked to call the road policing unit on 0845 4564564.
