An Orwell woman was given a triple celebration as she reached her 100th year surrounded by friends and family.
Margaret Beaumont, who lives in Lordship Close, became a centenarian on Sunday, October 12, with the Orwell Ringers at St Andrew’s Church ringing a quarter peel to mark the occasion.
The day before she was joined by family and friends, including 10 from the USA, before enjoying a tea party with neighbours later in the week.
Richard Elcock, Margaret’s son-in-law, said: “Margaret was thrilled to get her card from the Queen.”
