Opus 17 performed the 1940s concert at Greneway School in Garden Walk – a fitting theme considering the band started playing songs from the era when they first formed 20 years ago.

Also at the concert were trio The Doodlebugs, who pay homage to American singing group of the swing and boogie-woogie eras, The Andrews Sisters.

Their energetic performance appealed to the members of the audience who joined in with the Lindy dancers on the dance floor.

There was also a buffet for people to tuck into, prepared by Terry Veasey, the band’s alto sax player.
