SANTA Claus abandoned his sleigh and used an alternative mode of transport when he visited youngsters in Orwell on Friday (December 8).
He arrived at Petersfield School's annual Christmas fair in radio station Q103fm's Black Thunder vehicle with Simone Gill and Emma Cousins, who broadcast live.
The event which was organised by the school's parent teacher association included a magician, face painting, a variety of stalls, and Santa's grotto, which attracted about 80 children.
Shirley Bairstow of the PTA said: "We would like to thank everyone who supported and our sponsors which included Johnson Matthey."
The event is expected to raise £2,000 like last year.
