Dedicated officers have signed up to tackle crime in Royston’s vast expanse of countryside.

Royston Safer Neighbourhood Team are stepping up their policing of shed burglaries, speeding through country lanes, and flytipping in rural areas this year.

PCSO Chris Brabrook has had responsibility for rural areas of Royston for eleven years and will be joined by PC Hardiman and PCSO Penny Tomsett.

PCSO Tomsett has been dedicated to urban areas with Royston Safer Neighbourhood Team for nine years and police officer of 10 years PC Hardiman has dealt with both rural and urban issues.

PC Hardiman said: “I am delighted to take on this responsibly and we are looking forward to tackling issues affecting rural areas of Royston and anything that concerns people in this community.

“We are very keen to build relationships in the town and be fully aware of anything concerning people living and working in rural areas of Royston.”
