A nursery has joined a convenient scheme to help improve conditions at a school in Africa.
Bumpkins pre-school and nursery in Whaddon is supporting the toilet twinning charity following a refurbishment of their classrooms and toilet block.
The new toilets have been ‘twinned’ with a school in Farchana, Chad, and parents donated money which will go towards improvement work at the school.
Nessa Taylor, Bumpkins Nursery manager said: “Toilet-twinning is a great way for us to explain to our children how lucky they are and for them to understand how other children in our world don’t even have everyday things we take for granted, such as fresh running water.
“Our refurbished baby rooms are beautiful, and the staff have all worked so hard to help create a fantastic environment for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers to be looked after”.
