YOUNGSTERS have been getting green fingers in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The children at Bumpkins Nursery in Whaddon have planted daffodil bulbs as part of fund-raising activity, Mini Pots of Care.

Each child has been given a mini pot in which to plant a daffodil bulb and will learn how to look after it.

General manager Vanessa Taylor said: "The children have really enjoyed planting the bulbs.

"The compost came flat-packed and the children had to add water to it so it would expand. They were fascinated by the science behind it."

When the daffodils bloom in spring the youngsters will be painting their pots before taking them home to somebody they care about in return for a small donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
