Nimble-fingered knitters from Melbourn Village College have been learning new skills and putting them to good use.
After mastering the mysteries of knitting, they have been clicking away for charity, together with their families, to create pint-sized hats for Innocent smoothies.
The firm supports the Age UK’s Big Knit campaign, and every smoothie topped with a bobble hat sold generates a 25p donation to the charity’s Spread the Warmth campaign which funds befriending visits, emergency winter care, hot meals and a variety of other services.
And they’ve enjoyed the project so much that it has given birth to a craft club which will be tackling other challenges in the months ahead.
