A Royston animal charity is set to benefit from the generosity of hardworking night staff at the Tesco Extra store in Old North Road after they handed over bags full of pet food.
The pet partnership began over Christmas, when a member of the team, Allan Smith, hired a magician to entertain his colleagues over the busy period, in return for a donation to Heathlands.
The food was collected on behalf of Heathlands Animal Sanctuary, and the team also raised money through a raffle and dress up, with all the proceeds going to the project.
Sue Hayden, the Royston store’s night team manager, said: “It is the first time that the night team have done a project on their own and I hope we will continue to help out local charities in the future.”
