PA CONSULTING Group unveiled its new technology centre on Monday after two years of refurbishment.

The new centre in Melbourn, designed to update the original high-tec building design by Sir Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano, was opened by global head of technology and healthcare at PA Consulting Dr Alec MacAndrew.

He said: "The new environment at PA's technology centre enhances our ability to deliver innovative and strategic technology services to our clients worldwide, reflects our status as an employee-owned company, and provides an even more attractive, comfortable and stimulating workplace."

The new reception area now features an interactive display, with the group also boasting a new IT network and automatic lighting, while retaining laboratories and machine room facilities.

Dr MacAndrew added: "The refurbishment needed doing to bring it into the 21st century. It will enable us to continue and enhance the work that we do for our clients.

"Our carbon footprint is now better with the modern lighting and facilities."

The centre also has a new permanent display area where visitors and clients can view a range of previous PA projects.

PA Consulting offers an international management, systems and technology consultancy, employing 600 staff.
