PLANNING permission has been granted to redevelop a former haberdashers in Buntingford High Street. Trudgetts has stood empty for months to the disappointment of High Street traders, but Samuel Polton Properties has been given permission by East Herts District Council to redevelop the listed building as a shop on the ground-floor with two flats upstairs and another at the rear. Buntingford Chamber of Commerce chairman Carol Warren said: "It's a good start to the new year. "It's been such a gaping hole in the High Street so to have an additional shop will be wonderful. "It will have the potential to revive the town and keep people in Buntingford.
