New NHDC top dog revealed

THE new interim chief executive of North Herts District council was yesterday (Wednesday) revealed.
David Scholes will replace John Campbell - who receives £113,205 a year is entitled to a £4,000 per annum car allowance.
Mr Scholes currently the authority’s strategic director of planning, housing and Enterprise will replace his predecessor when he leaves at the end of February.
Cllr Lynda Needham, Leader of the Council said: “I am delighted that David has been selected as our new Chief Executive. Three senior members of staff were interviewed for the position and the committee were extremely impressed by the performance of all three candidates.
“David is an excellent choice to lead us forward over the coming months and I look forward to working with him.”
His appointment comes after an internal search and the decision is subject to formal ratification by the full Council on February 16.
The recommendation to the Council will be to appoint David as interim Chief Executive for a period of six to twelve months with a review after six months.
Mr Scholes’ pay scale has not yet been finalised.
