A community-owned pub is set to get a new lease of life.
The Green Man at Thriplow is owned by a consortium of villagers, who bought it to preserve it as an asset for the village.
Now Thriplow resident Sam Adams is taking over as landlord, and is promising a focus on local produce.
Mr Adams said: “I’m really excited about this opportunity and I’m very privileged to be chosen to take the tenancy.
“I’ve had plenty of experience managing pub businesses and now I just want to get stuck in and make my own mark on my own place.
“My ambition is to keep locally sourced food and real ale on the menu, and provide great service for the village and other local customers.”
The pub was bought by the village in 2012, when previous landlady Mary Lindgren decided to call it a day. Fifty five Thriplow residents paid a total of £300,000 to purchase the free house.
To celebrate the relaunch, Mr Adams has teamed up with Joe Kennedy from Black Bar Brewery in Harston, and hopes to produce beers specific to the Green Man.
The pub will reopen for the Thriplow Daffodil festival over the weekend of April 5 and 6.
