A NEW bus shelter is to be built in Buntingford.

The shelter, which will cost between £5,000 and £7,000, will be located at the bus stop in the High Street, ­outside the Manor House.

Buntingford Town Clerk Jill Jones told a meeting of Buntingford Town Council that the council hoped to gain up to £2,000 of grant funding from the county transport department, with the rest of the money to be provided by the town ­council.

Cllr Stan Bull said: "This shelter is much needed and has been an outstanding issue for years.
