Talk turkey to me! Knowing that families continue to feel the pinch this festive period, a supermarket chain has designed a Christmas meal for a steal.

Around 8% of UK adults (4 million people) rely on credit to fund Christmas, while nearly 4 in 10 credit users turn to buy now pay later options.

Up to 31% of parents with children at home report struggling with festive costs and everyday living expenses.

That’s why Lidl has created the best value Christmas dinner on the market, at just £1.39 per person from 19th December until Christmas Eve, in their stores nationwide.

The deal includes the Birchwood British Small Turkey (3kg) as a standout value centrepiece at just £8.85 and classic Sage and Onion Stuffing Mix 170g for just 45p.

The retailer is also driving down the cost of Christmas trimmings, pricing essential fresh produce - Sprouts (500g), Potatoes (2kg), Carrots (1kg) and Parsnips (500g) - at a market leading 9p each.

Completing the traditional roast and rounding off savings on the Christmas feast, Yorkshire Puddings (15 per pack) for 46p, and Gravy Granules (300g) for 99p.

Richard Bourns at Lidl said: “With household budgets remaining under pressure, we’re on a mission to deliver unbeatable festive value to our shoppers this Christmas.

“By pricing a complete Christmas dinner at less than £1.40 per head, we’re giving reassurance from the very start of the season.”

As part of the promotion – Lidl has reaffirmed its commitment to long-term partnerships with British suppliers.

Richard Bourns at Lidl added: “We’ve already invested £400 million in lowering prices this year, and we aren’t stopping there. Between additional price cuts and a further £75 million in Lidl Plus savings in the run up to Christmas, we’re making sure British families get the value they deserve. No guesswork, no festive price shock - just unbeatable value, locked in.

“Crucially, that value never comes at the expense of producers and every penny of our seasonal promotions is funded directly by us. That means we guarantee our farmers the same full, fair, contracted price they rely on throughout the season."
