A NATIONAL standards committee will investigate the case of a councillor accused of improper conduct.
As reported in The Crow last week, three residents of the John Impey Way sheltered housing scheme in Melbourn submitted complaints about the behaviour of South Cambridgeshire district council's portfolio holder for housing, Cllr Mark Howell.
The district council's standards committee assessment panel met last week to consider the complaints, and a council spokesman said: "The panel has referred the case to Standards for England for consideration on what, if any, investigative action will be taken."
Cllr Howell was accused of "arrogance" and displaying a "bullying manner" when he met residents of John Impey Way last month to discuss controversial changes to the sheltered housing wardens system.
A decision about whether action will be taken against Cllr Howell is expected early in the new year.
