The Boar's Head on Market Hill, was voted the best Greene King pub serving the perfect pint of Guinness.
Assistant manager Alison Root said: "We were quite impressed and really pleased that we won.
"We are a little pub and the rest are big chains in cities or towns so it was really good.
"All of our Guinness drinkers were really proud."
The nationwide competition was run by Guinness, who asked customers to vote for the best pint.
The Boar's Head was also in the top 20 of the competition for all public houses in the country.
