PUPILS at Layston First School in Buntingford interacted through music during a series of workshops. They were joined by two musicians, Ed Neuhauser and Ruth Davies, who played music and taught them how to play different rhythms. Pupils were also given an instrument and encouraged to move with the music. At the end of the day they staged a concert for parents and showed them what they had learned through the workshops. Headteacher Jane Sherwood said: "The children loved it and you could see how hard they were working. "They learned a lot about rhythm and working with other children which helps them in their everyday lives. "I think music is very powerful and children are eager to access it," she added.
