NINETEEN etchings and a pencil drawing of EH Whydale have been added to the artists' collection at the Royston & District Museum.

The donation came from Jasper and Toby Marsh in memory of their mother, Elizabeth Ann Marsh. Her father was a friend of Mr Whydale.

Because of relocating, the family decided to donate the works and that they should be known as the Elizabeth Marsh Collection.

Speaking of the donation, museum curator, Carole Kaszak said: "Many of the etchings are new to the museum collection.

"Fortunately, several of them match oil and water colours which we already have and give a deeper insight into Whydale's work."

She added that it was an "extremely generous" donation of works that have been treasured over many years.
