A GROUP of mums have raised £1,500 for park equipment. Action Babes, a voluntary group which aims to improve facilities in Buntingford, raised the money over two years through a charity football match, an Easter egg hunt and raffles. It has bought a bench for the play area at Norfolk Roads Playing Fields and two springers for the Seth Ward play area. Melanie Voller, of Action Babes, said: "We bought the bench so that parents can sit and watch their children, and the springers because there isn't much play equipment for the under-twos at the play area." Buntingford Town Council will be spending £360 on a safety surface beneath the springers.
