A ROYSTON tradesman received a visit from MP Oliver Heald.

Mr Heald called in on Graham's Electricks, of Newmarket Road, Royston, to chat to electrician Graham Hill and his apprentice, Sam Travers.

The visit was part of Mr Heald's support of National Apprenticeship Week which ran until today (Friday).

The North East Herts MP said: "Apprenticeships are vital for small businesses across North East Hertfordshire and I am pleased to recognise the contribution that Graham is making through offering an apprenticeship to Sam."

Sam spends one day a week training at Cambridge Regional College, and the remaining four days working alongside Mr Hill.

Mr Hill said: "I got my start in the industry through an apprenticeship and I felt it was my duty to offer the chance to a young trainee. Sam contributes a great deal to the firm, as well as receiving excellent training at college.
