More than 270 runners at Wimpole parkrun have marked Movember – the global campaign to raise awareness about men’s health – with all ages donning false moustaches for their weekly 5K run around the National Trust estate.

Taking part in the yearly fundraising initiative – or getting in on the act with a fake one – raises awareness of the early death of men through prostate and testicular cancer, and mental ill-health, including suicide.

Royston’s Chris Lee is recruiting members to his Toplip Topiary Team and he was delighted with the response from fellow Wimpole runners.

He said: “Parkrun is a big family of all ages and abilities. All are very conscious of health issues and the importance of talking about concerns.

“The fantastic response to this appeal is just one way they show that parkrun is about much more than running.”

Men, women and children can find out more about Movember, and join or donate to the Toplip Topiary Team at moteam.co/toplip-topiary-team.
