The motorcyclist injured in a crash with a 3.5 tonne lorry between Royston and Duxford at the weekend remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The A505 was closed both ways between the junctions for Flint Cross and the M11 following the crash on Sunday at about 4.50pm.

Two ambulances, the Hazardous Area Response Team, an ambulance officer and the East Anglian Air Ambulance medical car all attended the scene, and an ambulance spokeswoman said a man – the motorcyclist – was treated for serious leg injuries and taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Another person was also treated at the scene and taken to Addenbrooke’s.

The road didn’t reopen until about 11.30pm and it meant delays for visitors to the bank holiday Duxford Air Festival – which took place at the Imperial War Museum Duxford over the weekend.
