The final total raised at a family fun day held in memory of a one-year-old girl from Royston who died of leukaemia stands at more than £7,000.

The Team Mia family fun day was held on Therfield Heath last month, organised by Ben and Nicola Samuels, whose daughter, Mia, died four years ago of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

The money will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research, which is dedicated to research and improving the lives of people with blood cancer.

Mr and Mrs Samuels said: “We are totally overwhelmed by the support, kindness and generosity of everyone who supported the event and helping ensure Mia’s legacy is kept alive and never forgotten.

“We would not have been able to achieve this without everyone who helped, supported and contributed towards this amazing figure.”

Donations are still being welcomed, and can be made online at www.justgiving.com/TeamMiaFamilyFunDay.
