A Royston artist will see his work go on show at the town’s museum on Saturday.
Mike Dobson’s paintings will be featured on the balcony gallery until the middle of March.
Mike was born in Scotland in 1944, as his father had a wartime posting north of the border, patching up damaged aircraft for the RAF.
When peace returned, the family returned to their South Yorkshire roots where Mike studied for two years at the Barnsley School of Art, before taking up a design course at Leicester College of Art & Design.
He qualified as a furniture designer and over the next 45 years went on to have a successful career designing products, graphics and buildings.
When he retired he returned to his first love, painting and drawing, and has never looked back.
He’s a talented member of Royston Art Society, and his vibrant paintings of famous faces are very distinctive.
