A MAN was injured when he was attacked with a metal bar during an armed robbery in Meldreth.
The 56-year-old sustained the injuries to his arm during the raid, which happened at the One-Stop shop in the High Street, where he works.
Three masked men carrying metal bars burst into the shop at about 6.10pm on Saturday.
They threatened a female member of staff and demanded a customer in the shop lie down on the floor.
One of the men then asked a male member of staff to give him the safe keys, but he said he did not have them.
The raider then hit the man with a metal bar, causing serious injuries to his arm
The gang then broke into the tills and stole money before leaving in a dark vehicle.
The injured man, from Langford, Bedfordshire, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, where he received treatment.
In the wake of the incident, police have been conducting house-to-house enquiries, and detectives returned to the shop to take further statements from witnesses.
Det Sgt Chris Wilson, who is leading the investigation into the raid, said: "I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening and saw the robbery.
"I am also interested in speaking with anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the High Street area earlier that day.
"Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital in tracing the men responsible."
The first robber is described as white, 6ft 1in, of medium build, and wearing a black fleece jacket, light grey tracksuit bottoms, white trainers, black gloves, and a pink mask.
The second man is white, 5ft 11in, medium build and wearing a light coloured mask, hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms, while the third is described as stocky, 5ft 3in, and wearing a cream balaclava.
Anyone with information on the robbery should contact Det Sgt Wilson at Sawston Police Station on 0845 456 4564 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
Meldreth One-Stop has been open for business as usual this week.
