FOLLOWING record breaking A level results last week, Meridian School is now celebrating a set of outstanding GCSE results.
Students sitting this summer's exams have broken previous records and provisional statistics indicate that 70 per cent achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C with 59 per cent achieving A*-C including English language and mathematics.
These results place the school in the top 25 per cent of schools nationally.
Among those students who did well are:
Alice Hully (9.5A*, 1A), Jenny Clark (6A*, 4.5A), Anna Hay (4.5A*, 7A, 1B), Kelly Reid (2A*, 9A, 5B), Chloe Mingay (2A*, 6.5A), Connor Ackland (1A*, 7A, 2B),
James Bertram (9.5A), Edward Jones (4*, 3.5A, 1A AS level), Lucy Raynor (1A*, 8.5A, 1B), Marie Walsh (8A, 4.5B), Kirstin Bulger (3A*, 4A), Alfie Lloyd Commons (7A, 1.5B, 1C AS level).
Meridian headteacher, DR Michael Firth, said: "I am thrilled that this terrific group of students has performed so well. There are so many outstanding achievements which are a credit to the students and their teachers. Meridian Sixth Form College looks forward to welcoming them to their new courses next week.
