The founder of a Royston mental health group was thrilled that their first Christmas fete at the weekend raised more than £500.
Jess Lake founded the Royston Rethink Mental Health Peer Support Group in September, and organised the fete to help raise funds and awareness.
She told the Crow: “The fete was a huge success!
“I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of people who turned up. The charity Time to Change came which was successful and we have agreed to work together in the future.
“I was given a very generous donation by a company called CamAlarms, which means I can now secure the rental on the venue for the next six months.
“I was also very proud to promote The Thrive Programme which has helped me in the past and is something I would highly recommend.
“I could not have done it without help from those who currently attend the peer support group on a Thursday – two ladies in particular were extremely helpful. “Friends and family, including who also volunteered on the day were amazing and again I couldn’t have done it without them. In total, we raised £550 – which is fantastic.”
