The Meldreth community has been busy preparing for this year’s Christmas Tree Festival – and the time is almost here for them to show off their work.

The festival started 13 years ago, and Holy Trinity Parish Church regularly sees more than 30 different trees exhibited by families, schools and village groups.

Church member Theresa O’Malley told the Crow: “It is a wonderful event organised by villagers and chaired by Margaret Goddin. It’s very much a shared effort, the church is filled with beautiful trees and it really is fantastic.”

There will be candles, crafts, and a homemade produce stall. Visitors can enjoy homemade refreshments including soups and filled rolls at lunchtime, and cakes throughout the day.

It’s on Saturday and Sunday, December 2 and 3 – starting at 11am and finishing at 5pm – at the church in North End. Admission and parking are free.

Noah the donkey will be waiting to greet visitors outside the church door, and the weekend will close with a candle-lit Advent service at 5.30pm on Sunday.
