Nearly 100 cars hit the road for Cambs’ 13th annual MG ride on Saturday – and Melbourn Village College was where it all kicked off.
The school in The Moor was the setting for the start of the Cambridge and District MG Owners Club Snowdrop Run, which took place in the winter sunshine.
The 58-mile Snowdrop route took in four counties, culminating at the English Heritage site of Wrest Park in Bedfordshire. The event was initially held in its current form in 2006, after what started as one off only meet up the previous year turned out to be a huge success.
Not only were there representatives from the original MGs spanning more than 70 years of British motoring history there on Saturday, but also a number of their modern counterparts, and several other participants of other makes.
All the vehicles safely completed the course, with the furthest participants travelling all the way from Lancashire. The oldest vehicle was a Bullnose Morris, and the oldest MGs were a PB Roadster and an MG-Y Type.
