Students from Melbourn Village College have enjoyed an action-packed trip to Spain which combined language lessons, interaction with local students and a range of visits and activities.
After daily Spanish lessons in Comillas, the 30 students enjoyed visiting two different caves, one with mineral formations and the other painted with prehistoric cave art, before dining on a traditional stew and paella.
They also toured Gaudi house El Caprichom, which is covered with sunflower tiles and was designed to represent the moved of the sun and its owner’s love of music.
After a day working with Spanish students on a presentation about the Cantabria region in two languages, as well as participating in either a football tournament or learning some Flamenco, the final day was spent at the Cabárceno National Park.
Students Ella Pankhurst and Hattie Walker said: “We were very sad to have to go back to the airport and return home – this was the best trip ever and we would do it all over again if we could!”
