A Melbourn teenager has been awarded the highest rank possible in the cadets, the prestigious Cadet Warrant Officer.
Becky Green was promoted to the highest rank after an interview by wing commander Anthony Kelly which she successfully passed.
The 19-year-old, who is studying for an HNC qualification in uniform services at Cambridge Regional College, said earning CWO has been the ‘proudest moment’ of her cadet career.
The Bassingbourn squadron’s civilian instructor Gill Rowson-Brown said: “Becky is a real asset to the squadron, part of being a cadet warrant officer means she mentors all of the younger cadets and they all really look up to her and what she represents both at squadron and wing level.
“From a squadron perspective, it means we have a cadet who operates at all levels within the squadron and also gets involved at wing level in sports, cadet training, adventure training and the Duke of Edinburgh award.”
