Swimmers young and old made a splash at the weekend as they completed in a swimathon at Melbourn Sports Centre.
The participants came from Melbourn and the surrounding areas to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer through Swimathon’s established 1.5k, 2.5k and 5k distance challenges.
Manager Graham Johnson-Mack said: “It was great to see so many different age groups and abilities taking part on Friday and Saturday.
“They all seemed to have fun, as well as raising money for a great cause.”
Melbourn Sports Centre, based at the village college, was one of more than 600 pools nationwide hosting swimathons including the Olympic Park Aquatics Centre. Booking for next year’s event will open from January 2018.
