Fitness enthusiasts young and old were put through their paces at Melbourn Sports Centre last weekend, by taking part in a selection of free activities.

Graham Johnson-Mack, the manager of Melbourn Sports Centre, organised go-karting, boogie bounce and archery, as well as a free family swim and promotional displays from Melbourn & District Photography Society and Slimming World.

The main event of the afternoon was the mini duathlon and triathlon races organised in conjunction with Meridian Triathlon Club, where more than 60 children aged four to 13 years old competed against each other in scooting or cycling, running and swimming.

“It was great to see so many children and parents being so enthusiastic about trying new activities,” said Graham.

“After another brilliant duathlon and the success of our first junior triathlon, we’ll be looking forward to hosting more. Great fun was had by all!”
