ROYSTON'S mayor, Cllr Paul Grimes, was guest of honour at the Garden House Hospice's coffee morning.

Cllr Grimes attended the event, at the hospice shop in the High Street, with his wife Charlotte, and their baby daughter Imogen.

He said: "The Garden House Hospice is my charity for the year, so we're really pleased to be here supporting this event.

"We haven't lived in the town for very long, so I wanted to pick a charity that really served the people of Royston, and the Garden House Hospice fits the bill."

The hospice is based in Letchworth, and supports people from across North Herts who have terminal illnesses.

Tina Sykes, shop manager at the Royston store, said: "All the hospice shops are taking 'tea at three' to raise vital funds for the day-to-day work of the hospice.

"We rely on the generosity of local people, so today is also about raising awareness of the work done at the Garden House Hospice.
