Mayor presents best-dressed pirates with their treasure in Royston

The winners of the Royston Pirate Day fancy dress contest have been presented with their prizes for the being the best dressed pirates.

Royston’s Christopher and Andrew Liwak, and Matilda and Phoebe Budd from Barkway were presented with pirate diplomas and tins of chocolates from the town’s mayor Sarah Dingley. who said: “It was a strong field and an almost impossible task but the winning entries just nosed ahead with their costumes.

“So much imagination had gone into them.

“Many thanks to the organisers for such a fun event on a dank autumn Saturday.”
