OUTGOING Royston mayor Paul Grimes was given a soaking by his successor at the Royston parish church fete.
Cllr Grimes was one of a number of people, including Crow reporter Matthew Gooding, to take a turn on the infamous ducking stall.
New mayor, Cllr Rod Kennedy, was first in line to target his predecessor.
Earlier, Cllr Kennedy had taken the now traditional mayor's bounce on the fete bouncy castle.
The Rev Les Harmen, of Royston Parish Church, said early indications are that the show made over 3,500.
He said: "It's an excellent total, and the money will be used for the church hall appeal and to meet various other expenses.
