PUPILS and staff at Tannery Drift School raised more than £1,000 at its May Fayre on Saturday.
Despite the rain, the weather did not put people off and hundreds flocked to the event to take part in a variety of activities including, hook the duck, tractor rides and a competition which involved decorating a crown in celebration of the Queen's 80th birthday.
There was also a choir, and The Stephanie Prior School of Dancing performed.
Helen Hughes, a member of the Parent Teacher Association, who organised the event, said: "Considering the weather, everyone had a great time. At one point the school hall was jam-packed."
The money raised will be donated towards the further development of the school playground.
