Three masked men forced their way into one van, and tools were stolen from three others after a spate of thefts in South Cambridgeshire villages. Four vans were targeted within a 16-hour period last week, with police investigating the incidents and urging the public to be vigilant.
The first took place in St Lawrence Road, Foxton, between 6pm last Thursday and 10am on Friday, when a set of jump leads were stolen from a black Mitsubishi L200.
Tools were also stolen from a Ford Transit parked in Croydon High Street between 5pm on Thursday and 7.30am the next day.
Three masked men forced their way into a victim’s Ford Connect parked in Hurdleditch Road, Orwell, between 10pm and 10.15pm on Thursday, but nothing was stolen.
The final theft occurred in Glebe Road, Barrington, around 9.15pm on Thursday when a chainsaw was stolen from a Mitsubishi L200 by two men.
Police continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with any information is asked to contact them on 101. Vehicle owners are urged to park in well-lit area, check if there is CCTV coverage, look out for neighbours’ cars and report anything suspicious.
